A maths set the whole group can stand around
In the morning the group lays out 8 + 5 = 13 across the floor in blocks 12 cm high. After lunch the same blocks become a balance trail, and by the end of the day they are a den where a tired child can step away from the noise.
Numo 100 adds a full building set to the Numo blocks: 18 cubes with the numbers 0 to 9, 6 cubes with maths symbols, 46 plain cubes and 30 triangles. The cubes connect on every face, and the triangles finish roofs and gables.
Younger children count blocks and match them to numbers. Older children build problems with all four operations and solve them together, standing around the equation instead of bending over a worksheet. The cubes and triangles also turn into 3D shapes, towers and bridges, so maths carries on into building and movement.
